An informative session on the MSME Idea Hackathon 5.0 was held on 8th July 2025 at the Manipur Technology Innovation Hub (MTI-Hub) in Mantripukhri, Imphal. The session, titled “Nuts and Bolts of MSME Idea Hackathon 5.0 – Smart and Sustainable MSMEs,” aimed to give clarity and guidance to aspiring entrepreneurs and innovators from Manipur about the national-level funding opportunity under the Ministry of MSME.
The session provided valuable insights into the overall objectives of the hackathon, highlighting how it supports innovative business ideas with funding support of up to ₹15 lakhs. Participants were guided through important topics such as eligibility criteria, thematic areas, application procedures, and potential benefits for selected projects. The themes included low-carbon footprint technologies, cyber defense innovations, Industry 4.0 & 5.0 integration, sustainable solutions for coastal and hilly areas, and smart and resilient supply chains.
Attendees included enthusiastic entrepreneurs, students, and startups who engaged in Q&A sessions and received hands-on guidance from the MTI-Hub team. The session helped participants fine-tune their ideas and understand the path to turning innovative concepts into scalable MSME ventures.
It is important to note that this was a glimpse of the outreach event, as registrations for MSME Idea Hackathon 5.0 officially closed on 14th July 2025. However, the session successfully generated awareness and encouraged participants to think in the direction of sustainable, tech-enabled, and locally-rooted business models.
The Manipur Technology Innovation Hub continues to play a vital role in building an entrepreneurial ecosystem in the region by connecting government schemes with grassroots innovators and providing platforms to nurture real-world business solutions.
